CONSTRUCTION

Builder

BUILD · MAINTAIN · EXPAND

Building is about more than delivering projects. It is about creating the conditions for people, homes and communities to thrive.

Josephine’s work connects the built environment with the workforce needed to sustain it — building, renovating and maintaining spaces while expanding opportunity for more people to enter construction and the skilled trades. Housing capacity and workforce capacity are connected.

JS GROUP

JS Group

JS Group works across construction, renovation, disaster restoration, property management, maintenance and project delivery for residential and commercial environments.

The work is grounded in hands-on industry experience — understanding how properties are designed, built, repaired, maintained and adapted over time.

From renovations and restoration to ongoing property needs, the focus is practical: solve problems well, protect the asset and create spaces that continue to work for the people who depend on them.

BETN · WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Expanding Workforce Capacity

Through the Black Enterprise & Trades Network, the focus moves from the project itself to the people and systems required to build it.

BETN works to strengthen pathways into construction and the skilled trades by connecting people, employers, mentors, training, real work and the support needed to progress.

The goal is not simply recruitment. It is expanding workforce and training capacity — helping more people enter the industry, helping employers participate in training and mentorship, and creating stronger transitions into real work and long-term careers.

WOMEN · TRADES · LEADERSHIP

Women in Construction

Women remain underrepresented across many areas of construction and the skilled trades.

Representation is only the beginning. Josephine’s work focuses on what happens after the door opens — entry, skills development, retention, advancement, leadership, entrepreneurship and creating the conditions for more women to build lasting careers and businesses in the industry.

This is not only about encouraging women to enter construction. It is about creating real opportunities to learn, work, progress, lead and build.
